The Seattle Plant Exchange was listed as a resource in an AP article on seed swaps in the Seattle Times.
The article, by Melissa Kossler Dutton, emphasizes the benefits of local swaps to facilitate knowledge-sharing and germination of friendships.
Another plus, she writes, "Swapping seeds also creates a bond between gardeners, she said. When the seeds become plants they serve as reminders of friendships and good times."
For me, this has been the most rewarding aspect so far. Every time I look at one of the plants from Cristine & Tom, I am reminded of our first exchange - when we chatted in "gardener speak" and discussed future swaps.
